Coding Classes for Kids & Teens in Slough
At Halo Tuition, we're always looking for new ways to spark curiosity and nurture the next generation of digital leaders. We're pleased to offer specialised pathways suitable for ages 8-18 who want to prepare for our tranforming digital world.
Taught by our qualified and industry experienced tutors, our engaging, hands-on sessions keep learners motivated while equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age.
Blox Coding
Students begin with visual tools like Scratch, Minecraft and Blockly to understand programming logic, sequences, and fundamentals. They build games and animations through interactive, hands-on activities that make coding fun and accessible—laying a strong foundation for more advanced languages as their confidence and creativity grow.
Robotics and Electronics
Using platforms like Arduino, micro:bit, and Raspberry Pi, students build circuits, write code, and develop working robotics projects. They explore sensors, actuators, and programmable systems—combining hands-on engineering with real-world logic and design. A perfect introduction to both electronics and embedded programming.
Python
Students learn to build games, software, and automations using Python. Core topics include syntax, loops, logic, variables, and data types—reinforced through practical coding challenges. Advanced learners explore APIs, file handling, error handling, CSV data, and an introduction to object-oriented programming techniques.
VR/AR with Game Design
Students explore immersive design through virtual and augmented reality tools. Using platforms like Unity, they build 3D environments and interactive games. Along the way, they learn storytelling, level design, and user interaction—blending technology and creativity to develop compelling digital experiences.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
From ChatGPT to image generators, students explore how AI works and where it's heading. Through hands-on projects like chatbots and image recognition, they understand key AI concepts while critically examining its impact on creativity, communication, and society—developing both technical awareness and ethical understanding.
Cyber Security
This course builds digital confidence by teaching students to stay safe online. Learners explore how to create secure passwords, spot phishing scams, and manage digital footprints. The focus is on practical habits that foster long-term online safety, privacy awareness, and responsible tech use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What age are Halo's coding classes for?
Our coding and digital classes are for ages 8 to 18, with pathways ranging from visual, drag-and-drop coding for younger beginners up to Python, AI and VR/AR development for older, more advanced students.
Does my child need any coding experience to start?
No prior experience is needed. Complete beginners start with visual tools like Scratch, Minecraft and Blockly in our Blox Coding pathway, while students ready for more advanced work can move straight into Python, AI or VR/AR Game Design.
What coding pathways do you offer?
Six pathways: Blox Coding, Robotics & Electronics, Python, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and VR & AR Game Design. The pathways take students from first steps in logic and computational thinking through to real software, hardware and emerging-technology projects.
How much do coding classes cost?
Our group coding classes are £20 per 1-hour session. For 1-to-1 coding lessons, contact us for pricing, availability and the most suitable pathway for your child.
What will my child actually build in these classes?
Real, hands-on projects rather than passive learning - games and animations in Blox Coding, working circuits and robots in Robotics & Electronics, software and automations in Python, immersive 3D environments in VR/AR, and chatbots or image-recognition demos in the AI pathway.
Is coding taught online or in person?
Both formats are available across our coding and digital programmes, subject to the programme and current timetable. Contact us and we will recommend the most suitable option.
What's the best coding language for a beginner child to learn first?
For complete beginners, visual drag-and-drop tools like Scratch and Blockly (used in our Blox Coding pathway) are the easiest entry point, teaching core logic without needing to type syntax. Once a student is comfortable with that logic, Python is the natural next step into text-based programming.
